Brush Twice Per Day (especially at night)

Dentists recommend brushing twice per day in order to keep teeth strong and healthy. However, many people neglect brushing before bed which can be even more harmful than we think. Over the course of the day of eating and drinking, our mouth accumulates germs and plaque which builds up rapidly over time if our teeth are not brushed. When we don’t brush at night, as we sleep the plaque continues to build up and over time can result in tooth decay, gum disease, ulcers etc.

Use Floss

Flossing is a vital step in keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Not only does floss get rid of those awkward pieces of food stuck in small crevasses, but it is also a way to stimulate gums and reduce inflammation in that area.

Use Fluoride Toothpaste

Your toothpaste must include fluoride otherwise it will not be sufficient enough in fighting bacteria in your mouth. Fluoride is made to fight against tooth decay and is the leading defence mechanism for this problem. It has the ability to fight away germs and adding a protective barrier over your teeth.

Use An Electric Toothbrush

It has been proven by dentists that electrical toothbrushes are more effective than manual. This is because they have a small head that can reach awkward spaces and is way more effective at removing plaque and bacteria. They are also extremely easy to use and almost does the work for you!

Brush Your Tongue

Your tongue can also accumulate a lot of germs, bacteria and plaque which can lead to tooth decay and tooth loss. Brushing your tongue will eliminate this, as well as get rid of bad breath. There is also toothbrushes on the market with small, short bristles at the back which are designed to help brush your tongue.
